Project VIBE contains many partners with each their own technical qualities. In this article we will dive into some of the aspects about the development of the project; technical aspirations, goals and motivations. We will also explain why we make use of certain programs and services.
Development philosophy
The technical design philosophy of the VIBE project is simple; on a technological and code level we want to be able to expand the VIBE project when we need to, be it for extending features or new technologies. We also investigate possibilities that can expand the VIBE project and use it in other educational sectors where natural conversation between professionals and patients or customers is an important aspect of day-to-day operations.
Programs and services used in development
The main bulk of application development itself is done in game-engines Unity and Unreal Engine. Additional tools like FaceWare, RabbitMQ and Unity UI Toolkit are also in use. We’ve selected these programs because they are widely in use, well regarded and receive a lot of support and extensions because they are so well known and so frequently in use. Additionally, partners of the VIBE project also look into options to utilize open source applications in the VIBE project were available.
Development Improvement and expandability
VIBE is always on the lookout for new technologies to emerge from the horizon. Our partners interests lies in expanding their skillsets and in looking how to improve their products, themselves and their company. This is what VIBE aspires to do as well. Our main goal at this point is to make a working prototype of the VIBE project. While doing that, we also keep an eye on developing technologies that could improve certain aspects of the project.
